Additional Info – All the Rodbourne Rocket riders have breast plates made out of coal sacks and soft hats whereas the Crossway Flyers had leather breast plates and hard hats. The coal sacks were supplied by Brookes Coal Merchants of Bruce Street who’s son was a rider for the Rodbourne Rockets. Brown’s Dairy milk floats can be seen in the background. Crossway Flyers home track was on the recreation ground off Popular Avenue in Pinehurst, Swindon
