I may be wrong, but I wonder whether this is the children from the Coronation Party in Guppy Street, en route to their “Tea” at the Rodbourne Road Working Men’s Club on the corner of Redcliffe Street. I was 9 at the time. We did dress up in fancy dress – I was a Pirate. We had games in Guppy Street first, but unfortunately I tripped up in the piggy back race and broke one of my front teeth, so the photo may have been taken when I was at home receiving first aid.
Does anybody else remember the Coronation Party in Guppy Street?
I have given Gordon some pictures of the Rose street coronation party, and I was also 9, but no recollections of other street parties, but then we were all having our own individual parties, shame because that would have been just great to have joined up for one big celebration. and Christopher I remember you from both Jennings street and Even Swindon schools.
