At a later date Mr Amor who owned a shop in Redcliffe Street stabled his horse in the field and we believe at that time owned the field. During this period the the local Sunday Schools of St Augustine’s and the Rodbourne Road Methodist Church used to take the children down for picnics called Sunday School Treats. Local resident Stan Rogers who moved into his newly built house in Fosse Close decided with the other residents to purchase land from Mr Amor at the rear of the properties to extend their back gardens.
